This map, titled “Why is [state] so…“, presents people’s opinions of different states by showcasing the autocomplete results Google has gotten with each state. I find this map interesting because of how stereotypical some results are such as New Jersey being bad or Louisiana being racist.

I love the concept because you have an idea of what a state is and then go check this map to see if you’re actually right and that’s what other people think.

This map is too funny and for some states quite accurate! I was looking for a map like this but but as you stated some of them were too stereotypical and judgmental. Florida and NY are accurate hot & expensive!

LOL I refused to believe BAD was the first option for NJ and when I googled it, it says expensive, which I definitely believe more!

I love this one. It’s cracking me up. Having been to a majority of states in the continental United States, this really hits the nail on the head.
I particularly enjoyed “Why is Utah so Mormon?,” and “Why is Nebraska so boring?”
For the record, Nebraska is dreadful.

This map made me laugh. I would agree that New Jersey has a bad reputation. Most of my friends complain about the way NJ smells. I am surprised that we didn’t get “stinky” or “smelly.” I also think the show “Jersey Shore” makes us seem worst the we are.
